"We visit Jacksonville Beach every so often, and have been told to hit Poppy's for some good italian eatin'. Those recommendations were accurate. We got the Penne al Vodka and the Spaghetti Carbonara. Both came with salad and garlic bread. We did to go so we could eat at the condo we were staying in 10 min away to watch World Cup action. The Take Out containers/wrapped in paper bags was done with care, best take out prep I have seen before. Food was still pretty hot when we got home, and salads cool as should have been. Garlic Bread was nice and had great butter and real garlic all over, the bread was great, House salad perfect. But the star of the show was the main course. Huge Portion for both. I am a fan of Carbonara, and Poppy's did NOT dissappoint! It was likley the best rendition I have had in recent memory. It is something I'll make at home from time to time, but if I lived here, there would be no reason to make it at home, for the price and quantity, there is no Beating the Carbonara from Poppy's! The Penne was also very good, we make a traditional version of it at home as well, recipe from a Napel's Italy born family friend. Will definitely do take out from here again, or perhaps dine in, the restaurant had a nice vide to it from what we could see from front of the restaurant, nice music going, not too loud, etc. Thanks for a Great dinner."
